Hello and happy Friday! We are both enjoying our break VERY much! Lots of good time relaxing with family and enjoying not having to be up with any other alarm clock than the alarm clocks we call our children. :)

Today's topic is favorite food. Ummmmmmm....not quite sure how to narrow that down! :) I love, love, love holiday food. Every year my family makes all the cookies and treats that we really only make at Christmas time. Then every year we sit around enjoying them and ask ourselves why in the world we only allow ourselves to make these treats at Christmas! It seems crazy since we are quite able to make them at any point throughout the year, yet we still seem to save them to be Christmas treats!

Deck the Halls with TPT Linky Party

It is Sunday, which would normally mean we would be thinking about the beginning of another work week.  However, today is all about something much more fun! We are gearing up for Cyber Monday and Tuesday on TPT!  We have WAY too many items in our carts and can't wait to start shopping.  The best part of this sale is that we don't have to head out into the cold to shop!   We both plan on finding a Christmas movie for our kiddos to watch and doing some shopping in our pajamas!  Of course, we both have to have our kiddos watching tv at the same time so that we can text back and forth about the deals we are finding and buying.  We would hate to find something amazing and not share where to find it with each other!

Thanksgiving Freebie

I love books, but I really, really love books that have to do with holidays. I think I love them so much because the kiddos get so into them. I was just talking with my kiddos today about how I was going to share a book that I loved with them when one of my kiddos pointed out that I always love all the books! She was kind of right! There are so many great children's books out there and I love getting to be the first one to introduce them to the kiddos in my class each year.
Today we read Turkey Trouble

 and Katie whipped up a quick cause and effect activity to go with the book. If you would like to grab a copy of the activity just click on the picture below.

We also did a quick activity with There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie.

We needed something quick so that we could share with the Kindergarten class.  So we made the old lady on lunch sacks and cut out her mouth.  Then we made the things she ate and retold the story.  After practicing in class with partners we went down to Kindergarten and shared with them.  This was so easy and quick that the kindergartners actually borrowed the activity from their 2nd grade friend and retold it themselves!  Here are a few pics of what some of my kiddos made.
