Stop, Swap, and Roll!!

  Hello!  We have been given the chance to participate in another fun product swap.  These are some of my favorite things to do because I always find great new blogs to follow and wonderful new products that I'm not sure how I lived without!
  My swap partner was Amanda from The Take Home Teacher.

She has some great products in her TPT store.  After a whole lot of looking and hemming and hawing over which product I wanted I finally decided on her Consonant Combos: Blends, Digraphs, & Trigraphs.

I chose this product because I have a few pretty low second graders who are still struggling with these and it looked like a fun way to review with them in our small group.  I was definitely not disappointed with my pick! This product is awesome and is jam packed with great ways to help kiddos with this concept. Amanda thought of everything when she created this product and my kiddos definitely had fun using it!  She has a page explaining what blends, digraphs, and trigraphs are that would be perfect to use with parents. She also has several pages of directions on how to use the product which was very helpful. 

 I also found that I was very easily able to use the products one on one or in a small group.  

There are also some great printables included in this product!

Trade and Grade

We had a chance to join up with The Primary Gal's Trade and Grade! We were so excited to have the chance to check out a great product and to get to "meet" a new friend!
We got to review Keeping Up with Mrs. Harris' Addition Tic Tac Toe.

This is SUCH a great product!  There are tons of different tic tac toe board options to help you differentiate for your kiddos!

We just finished regrouping with addition and are getting ready to move on to regrouping with subtraction soon so this was the absolute perfect fun way for kiddos to review!  The kids had a blast checking their answers with the QR codes too!

Bright Ideas Link Up-Neat and Tidy Supply Tubs

Hello!  Welcome to another Bright Ideas Link Up.  This is one of our favorite times of the month.  We both love reading all the Bright Ideas and getting to share  a small tip that works or us. 
This month's tip is another simple one!  We keep supply tubs on our kiddo's desks.  This year we each have 16 kiddos and our desks are set up in groups of 4.  In the middle of each group is a tub.  This is what is in each tub.  

Our Bright Idea fixes a problem that always happens.  We start off the year with tubs neat and organized and within a day or two our tubs are a mess!  Things are in the wrong spot and when the kiddos try to fix them they end up making an even bigger mess.  So we decided to take a picture of each of the tubs while it was organized and hang that picture on each tub.  We printed the above picture and tied it with ribbon on each of the tubs. That way the kiddos can always refer to the picture when organizing their tubs! Voila!  Easy for us and easy for them.

Bright Ideas Link Up-Student Information Cards

 

 We have a quick and easy Bright Idea for you this month.  For years we received the enrollment forms that parents filled out at enrollment.  They had tons of great information, but it was all in different spots on the form and we always had to hunt for phone numbers, parent names, etc.  Then our district switched to having student information online.  This sounded great to us until we realized that every time we wanted to look up a phone number for a kiddo we would have to log in to the system.  

This did not work at all for us when we were trying to make a quick call during our lunch break or to let a kiddo call about a forgotten lunch at the beginning of the day.  

So we decided to create our own parent information card!  At our Parent Information Night (this is usually within the first 2 weeks of school) we have parents fill out this card.

 Then we add a hole punch in the top corner and put them all on a ring.  These are hung on our teacher bulletin board right next to the phone and computer.  This has made our lives soooooo much easier!
